MOPS is a non-profit organization designed to encourage relationships and share resources for mothers of newborns all the way through school aged children. Through our twice monthly meetings, we provide a space where mothers can come and fellowship with one another and support each other’s journeys of caring for our families. Our meetings consist of devotions to encourage our spiritual health, opportunities to give back to our community, and guest speakers to aid us in the task of raising our children. Most importantly, our chapter offers child care during our meetings which enables our members to make meaningful connections with one another while being confident that our littles are being well cared for. For the past three years, our membership has grown. Currently, we have more than 150 members in our local Columbia chapter - which includes our Morning MOPS, MOMSnext and MOPS After Dark groups.
The money raised by this event is gratefully used to help supplement the costs of childcare while member moms meet, as well as provide scholarships to moms who might otherwise not be able to afford to attend MOPS. We also support children and families through service and donations to other local organizations.
